Two teenagers accused of carrying out an armed smash-and-grab raid at a jeweller’s in Edgware appeared in court this week.

The front window of Vinson Jewellers, in Station Road, was smashed during the attempted robbery on Friday, November 16.

A 17-year-old from Colindale and a 16-year-old from Stanmore appeared at Wood Green Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Monday.

The pair, who cannot be named because of their age, are facing charges of robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

They are also charged with possession of an imitation firearm whilst committing a schedule one offence, affray, and taking and driving away.

Both have been scheduled to appear again at the court on January 11 and 25.
