COMMUNITY groups and individuals working with children in the Brent area will be able to get information, advice and training on keeping them safe under an NSPCC initiative being piloted in the borough.
The Safe Communities Project will run for three years to ensure all children and young people in England and Wales can take part in organised activities safely.
The aim is to bring about far-reaching changes in policy and practice.
Working in partnership with Brent Council, the Brent Association for Voluntary Action, the Hindu Council and the African Child, the NSPCC has organised a free conference and series of workshops on November 28.
Anyone involved in looking after children and young people is invited to hear talks by people responsible for keeping children safe in Brent; take part in discussions and her about training workshops.
Helen Edwards, NSPCC project manager said: "We hope that anyone with an interest in child protection will use these resources.
"The aim of the initiative is to share and pass on information and training that people can use, and in turn pass on to colleagues and other organisations they may work with.
"We very much hope therefore that the project will have long-term benefits in Brent."
