THE explosion in South Harrow is not thought to have been caused deliberately, police say.

Forensic teams have been examining the site of the blast, in Stanley Road, and believe a build-up of gas in unused pipes in number 21 caused the explosion last Wednesday evening.

Officers have taken a section of pipe and the gas meter as well as the doormat away from the house for further examination.

Detective Chief inspector Colin Sutton, who is leading the investigation, said police have now ruled out theories that the explosion was caused by a purple liquid poured through the letterbox, and are focusing on gas as the cause.

He said: "None of the information gathered in the past few days supports the theory of explosives, or similar devices, nor a deliberate act to cause an explosion."

What the hell ru talking about?? If anything, us Londoners should be scared coming to NYC after 9/11. Harrow has the highest number of Afghans in the UK, deal with it or don't come coz this has nothing to do with suicide bombers - the only person to die was Muslim.. And learn how to spell.

Jhonny:I dont think u have read the article properly. The person who may have done it did not kill him/herself so suicide bomber is out of question. ISLAM is the religion of PEACE and condemns such activities those who suicide bomb themselves are not from ISLAM.

@PROUD TO BE A MUSLIM!

That's funny, i don't remember the last anti-terrorist protest by muslims. I do however recall a protest regarding a bloody cartoon. Religion of peace? Yes, so long as no one disagrees with your beliefs, you're pathetic.

hey Whitey, the post mortem on the victim found that he was killed by debris and not an explosion, that can rule out that he blew himself up. The cartoon you mentioned was offensive to muslims therefore they do have a right to protest (I am not muslim myself). Your comments have shown yourself to be just as small minded and ignorant as some minority muslims that go around using their religon as an excuse to hate others. Not all muslims are like that. However there is too much ignorance out there at the moment.

@ white-fascist:
No sunshine, pathetic is when you blv everything you read/see on the TV.
I bet ur one of those ppl that doesn't even know our country is at fault for creating most of the problems in the world.. who promised the American Jews the Palestinian's land (now called Israel) in exchange for helping them out in World War 1?? Go read up on the "Balfour Treaty", the way Britain colonialised the coloured world and the policies it holds on "Peace" in the Middle East..
I'm ashamed and so should you be!
