AN artist who lived opposite the site of a South Harrow explosion has said painting the wreckage has helped him cope with the shock.

Dan Hall, 27, moved back into his house, at no 22 Stanley Road, last night (Wednesday) and is now cleaning up the rooms and corridors.

He said: "I was painting when the explosion ripped through the exterior of my house. I've been doing paintings from the police cordon since then. It's been my solace."

Much of Dan's existing art was damaged by shrapnel from the blast, and while he can restore some of the work others will be ruined.

He is insured for most of the damage done to the house but is not covered for the paintings.

I like this picture.

Is it going to be displayed in the Civic Centre in recognition of the trauma experienced by residents?

Intelligent input andy. Dan is a highly respected artist, he exibited his paintings at the highest level all over the country, he has taught art at Harrow School and one of his paintings hangs in the Palace of Westminster. I have a piece on Dans work hanging on my wall at home and I happen to think this is a very good painting.
