Personal Overview - From a legal background, his political experience includes Local Government and prior to his election in 2006 was a parliamentary candidate on two occasions. Favours a Greater London Authority with a limited role, with interests including resisting developments on green belt land, not penalising motorists in transport policy, criminal Justice policy and Arts & Cultural policy. He is likely to be knowledgeable on suburban local issues which would affect his constituency area. Shortly after his election, he was promoted to become a Conservative spokesman in Communities and Local Government, given his background in the GLA, it is an area where he his likely to have some knowledge.
