I was most pleased to attend the formal opening of the refurbished playground in Headstone Manor last week. As reported, this upgrade was part of the last Government’s Playbuilder Scheme.
Is it not a pity that this successful scheme has been scrapped by the Tory-led coalition Government? Harrow Council was expecting to complete another 11 similar schemes across our borough this year but the Government has now “pulled the plug” on this much-needed funding.
After the cancellation of the Building Schools for the Future programme, this is another blow for the young people of Harrow.
