Comments (0)Your reporter writes that Leisure Connection has shaped the council's thoughts and plans for the new leisure centre (Harrow Times, January 24).
During the relaunch I explained that we have been working in partnership with the council to provide the commercial input that they requested to make an informed decision about the new facility mix, but the final decision was down to the council and the council only. The final mix of facility will be based on what is of most use to the entire Harrow community and this will be a value-for-money judgment by the council and not solely a commercial decision.
I am also disappointed that your reporter chose to focus on the discussion around the proposals for the new centre and not the great new gym equipment that is available to the local community now.
Leisure Connection prides itself on working with the council and indeed the community to take into consideration the needs of all parties. I trust you will allow me to put the record straight by publishing this letter.
