It is going to be a double bill of the bard next week at The Old Town Hall in Hemel Hempstead with two audience-focused, multi-role, gender-blind Shakespeare plays - Henry V and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

New Shakespeare company, Merely Theatre, has honed a style that strips the playwright's work back to basics - so there will be no gauche sets, frilly collars or fussy props, just the actors, the audience and the script.

Merely Theatre are also stripping back something else - the concept of gender. Both male and female actors play every part and interchange throughout, putting the personalities and relationships in the spotlight.

Henry V will be on at The Old Town Hall on February 9 and A Midsummer Night's Dream on February 10.
