Slash is the latest celebrity to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The British-born guitarist was accompanied by the likes of Charlie Sheen and his former Guns N' Roses band-mate Steven Adler as the star was unveiled outside the Hard Rock Cafe on Hollywood Boulevard.

Slash was visibly moved and choked up as he accepted the honour. He said: "Needless to say I'm totally overwhelmed at the moment.

"It's a star on Hollywood Boulevard, so it's the coolest thing you could ever get anyway.

"But for me personally, I'm such a part of this scenery, I went to school here, started playing guitar here, rehearsed literally 100 yards down the street."

He added: "I've been a part of the Hollywood Boulevard fabric for a long time, so to be appreciated by the city of Hollywood is a huge honour."

The 46-year-old, who was born in London, but moved to Los Angeles as a child, released his second solo album earlier this year.
