Coleen Rooney has shared the first picture of her newborn son Cass, hours after announcing his arrival.
The 31-year-old is seen lying in bed with the baby wrapped up on her chest in the black and white snap, posted on Instagram.
Repeating her original Twitter comment, the wife of footballer Wayne wrote: “So happy to welcome our baby boy …. Cass Mac Rooney into the world weighing a healthy 8lb 10oz. He is beautiful.
Cass is brother to the Rooneys’ three boys whose names all begin with the letter K – Kai, Klay and Kit.
News of the birth comes just over two months after she vowed to make her marriage to her football star husband work.
The 32-year-old was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid community work after admitting being nearly three times the legal drink drive limit while at the wheel of another woman’s car following a night out.
In a message posted on her Facebook page in November, the wife of the Everton footballer said her husband had made some “silly and selfish mistakes” and she had been through a “shit time”.
She said: “It’s my decision … do I love Wayne … yes I do. If I didn’t then I wouldn’t be trying to make it work.”
Following the arrival of Cass, a message from Everton on the club’s official Twitter page read: “Huge congratulations, @WayneRooney, @ColeenRoo and family. Another Blue is born!”
