Leading Israeli musicians in concert
Two of Israel's foremost young musicians will be performing in Hampstead this weekend in the first concert of 2012 from the Mill Hill Music Club.
Pianist Ishay Shaer and violinist Sivann Maayani-Zelikoff will be playing Prokofiev's Violin Sonata No. 1 in F Minor, Debussy's Violin Sonata in G Minor L140 and Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 9 'Kreutzer'.
Thirty-year-old Sivann is very much looking forward to returning to London - she lived here while studying at the Royal Academy of Music. “It feels like coming home,” she says. “The last time I was here was in 2006. I'm going to catch up with my friends and see the opera.”
Sivann is one of Israel's leading young violinists, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician, while Ishay too has performed all over the world and won many national and international prizes.
The two have just returned from a tour of South America, and after their flying visit to London they will be heading off to Germany for more concerts.
Sivann Maayani-Zelikoff and Ishay Shaer will be performing at Henrietta Barnett School, Central Square, Hampstead Garden Suburb on Sunday, February 12 at 7.30pm. Details: 020 8959 3866, www.millhillmusicclub.co.uk
