Music from across the world will take centre stage in Sarratt, as the village hosts its annual festival of music. The eagerly anticipated event will feature a host of different performances from acts including the wonderful, award-winning Vertavo String Quartet, who are travelling from Norway to play.

The festival opens on Friday, September 19 with the innovative Aquarelle Guitar Quartet, famed for their Spirit of Brazil and Final Cut albums.

On Saturday, September 20, the amazing jazz violinist Christian Garrick returns by popular demand, to perform a programme titled Beginning with Bach.

Festivities continues on Friday, September 26 with the event’s patron, pianist John Lill, playing four of Beethoven’s most famous sonatas.

The festival concludes on Saturday, September 27 with a recital by the internationally renowned Vertavo String Quartet, who perform Mozart, Janacek and Semtana.

The village’s children will also have a part to play in the musical festivities, as professional musicians pay a visit to Sarratt JMI School for a day of workshops.

Now in its 15th year, the festival takes place over the last two weekends of September in Sarratt Village Hall. Since its inception in 2000, it has attracted the very best in high-profile, eclectic musical talent.

Every year the festival features some of the very best classical and contemporary music in the UK and features well-known as well as up-and-coming artists, all selected to entertain audiences whatever their musical tastes.

Past performers have included Emma Johnson, Paul Lewis, Craig Ogden, Catherine Bott, John Suchet, the Haffner Ensemble and Timothy West.
