Don’t plan your 2017 move alone
And so we welcome a new year.  A time for resolutions and new beginnings.  Perhaps it’s also the year for a house move.

The chances are that if you’re at the stage of simply pondering a move, you’re likely to turn to the internet for your initial research.  You’ll want to get a sense as to how much your property might be worth; the cost of making the next step up the ladder; and where the hot spots in your chosen location are.  In fact, it’s likely that you’ll start your online research up to nine months before you actually contact a local agent.

But in the days before the internet, you’d had made that initial trip to the local branch much earlier.  This raises the question as to whether you’re depriving yourself of quality insight and expertise from those who truly know the local market – the agents in those very branches.

We know our customers and whether they’re looking to rent or buy, or even if they’re unsure of their options, they shy away from engaging with the experts for fear of feeling obligated to arrange a valuation or being drawn too far in to the discussion for their current level of comfort.

That’s why we’ve launched a new service: the Property Consultation.

If you’re at the early stages of contemplating a move, this is a totally free, no-obligation meeting with one or more of our property experts where we literally bring the branch to you.  It can last anything from 15 minutes to one hour (or beyond!) and with some prior insight in to your current needs, we’ll come equipped with the information to help you decide on your next move.

If you’re unsure whether buy or rent, both a sales and lettings consultant will join the meeting.  Perhaps you can’t decide between a move or an extension – that’s fine, we’ll ensure we’ve got a mortgage advisor lined up ready to provide an indication of how much re-mortgaging will cost.  It might simply be that the overall process of moving feels off-putting and if that’s the case, we’ll do all we can to clarify the options and reassure you at the same time.

The benefit of all this is that at no stage will you be obligated to engage us to provide a valuation or take the conversation further – it’s simply Andrews’ way of ensuring that the knowledge and expertise that we’ve built up in your local area over the years, is provided to you in a meaningful and helpful way: a way in which we believe you probably won’t get from trawling the internet.
