Pearce makes return to Stones

Wealdstone legend Stuart 'Psycho' Pearce returned to the club on Sunday as the Supporters Club celebrated their 50th anniversary.

The current England Under-21 manager was the guest speaker at the event at the Watford Hilton Hotel which attracted more than 250 guests, supporters and former players. The proceeds of the evening are going towards the club's new home at Ruislip Manor.

David Albert, chairman of the club, said: "We wanted something really special to celebrate our 50th anniversary as a club and we certainly got it. Stuart was fantastically accommodating and showed once again that he will never forget his roots and we thank him for taking precious time out to be with us."

The former England star spent nearly five years at Wealdstone in the late 1970s and early 1980s before earning a move to Coventry City.

Pearce was presented with a montage of his first and last games with the Stones and a photograph of his debut against Dorchester Town in 1979.
